Camp Hill Bridge will be closed during the day for a week from March 24 - April 2.Camp Hill Bridge will be temporarily closed to vehicles for a week at the end of March, so crews can install sections of a new wastewater pipeline on the structure as part of work to upgrade Upper Clutha’s wastewater network.
Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) advised the bridge will be closed from Tuesday March 24 to Thursday April 2, between the hours of 8.30am and 6.00pm each day.
“This means the final school bus in the morning can use the bridge, but any afternoon traffic (including afternoon school buses) will need to use Gladstone Road, Cemetery Road, Domain Road, Capell Avenue, and SH6,” QLDC said.
Alternatively, road users will be able to use Luggate Red Bridge, SH8A, and SH6.
The new pipeline is part of a major upgrade planned for the Upper Clutha wastewater network, scheduled for completion by early 2027, designed to significantly increase capacity and support future growth in the Hāwea area.
