A pro jump line featured in a video with a mountain biking legend will be resurrected at Bike Glendhu this weekend for a first-of-its-kind jump jam event.
Red Bull's ‘MIDPOINT’ video shows Canadian pro mountain biker Brandon Semenuk taking on the pro jump line (series of jumps) at Bike Glendhu three years ago.
Now, registered riders with the skills to take on the massive jumps will be able to experience the pro line themselves on Saturday (November 19) at the Mid Point Jump Jam.
The Bike Glendhu team, along with riders and volunteers, are getting the jumps ready for the event with community dig days at the park every day this week from 4-6pm.
The Mid Point Jump Jam is the newest signature bike event to come out of Bike Glendhu, a (mostly) pedal-powered MTB park that boasts over 35 kilometres of trails.
The event will also feature music from DJ Matty J and non-alcoholic beverages from b.effect brewing company for post-Jam celebrations at Base 334 (Bike Glendhu’s base building).
“Events in the park and at Base 334 bring together both our mountain biking community and the wider outdoor community here at Bike Glendhu,” Bike Glendhu managing director Charles Cochrane said.
“The Jump Jam format is entirely rider-initiated, combining a relaxed vibe, rad scenery and great people.”
The pro jump will be open to registered riders from 1pm-5pm on Saturday.
Passholders will be able to view the Jam on Saturday afternoon, but there will be no foot traffic allowed - all spectators must access the jump area via bikes through the park trails.
