The Wānaka Autumn Art School, which was due to take place in late April, has been postponed until October.
The annual art school is a non-profit event run by the Upper Clutha Community Arts Council at the Mount Aspiring College campus.
Over the course of a week, participants step away from their everyday lives and dive into learning or fine-tuning a skill or interest, with help from experienced tutors from around New Zealand and sometimes coming from as far as Australia .
Organisers said in a statement that the event has been pushed back due to Covid-19.

“The current uncertainties with Covid have led us to conclude that postponing the 2022 school until October 10-14 was our best option.”
It has been renamed the Wānaka Spring Art School this year.
Participants who wish to take part in the October art school can enroll up until the end of March. Bookings will open again in July to fill any remaining courses.
The 2022 art school classes include writing fiction, watercolours, painting, photography, group singing, fly fishing, jewellery making and more.

People who have already signed up have until March 31 to cancel for a full refund, or they can take part in October.
This year will be the art school’s 32nd year.
It has been cancelled just once, in 2020, due to the emergence of the Covid-19 outbreak.
The Wanaka Spring Art School will take place from October 10-14.
