Update 11am: Power has now been restored.

A power outage this morning is affecting an area on the west side of Wanaka.

From Meadowstone to Glendhu Bay is presently without power due to a fault which is expected to be repaired by midday today according to Aurora Energy.

The fault occurred at 10.20am this morning and is affecting Bills Way, Cattle Flat, Glendu Bay, Edgewater, Meadowstone, West Wanaka and Surrounding Areas.

High winds are affecting the region today with a wind warning in place from 11am this morning.
