Alexandra Blossom Festival announces entertainment lineupAlexandra blues guitarist Paul Foulds will take to the Contact Party In the Park mainstage.

The Alexandra Blossom Festival, which will take place on September 26-28, has announced an entertainment lineup for the annual celebration of spring.

The festival has been a fixture on the Central Otago calendar for 68 years, celebrating not only spring but also the region’s special character and its role in the summer fruit and wool industries.

Festival event manager Martin McPherson told the Wānaka App that Upper Clutha residents will enjoy the free entry for children and free carnival rides courtesy of Contact Energy.

More than 10,000 people enjoy the festival celebrations each year.

This year’s entertainment lineup includes the Contact Party In the Park mainstage, featuring Alexandra blues guitarist Paul Foulds, and well known Kiwi musicians Barry Saunders and Jackie Bristow.

Ten-piece band Capitol City will also take to the stage, bringing their trademark synergy and infectious energy.

The children’s entertainment stage includes crowd favourites Mullet Man and MiM - a husband and wife team with combined circus entertainment experience of over 50 years; Wayne McEwan Magic Guy - a fast-paced family show; Mr Heaphy - who specialises in stilt walking, aerial performance and sideshow; juggler, magician and clown Mr Wozowski; and the festival’s newest performer Emma Mackey - a circus performer and party entertainer.
