Would you like an opportunity to truly contribute to better outcomes for fresh water and community well-being in the Upper Clutha?
WAI Wānaka is a charitable trust whose purpose is to accelerate action for fresh water.
Our research, education and community programmes aim to raise awareness of the challenges facing waterways and ensure that everyone that touches the water understands their impact and acts to protect it.
We are currently seeking another Trustee who has expertise in urban action and a new Board Observer to join our active Board of Trustees.
Trustee with a focus on urban action:
As our Trustee with a focus on urban action you will have a deep knowledge of challenges facing our urban communities and possible solutions and be passionate about environmentally conscious urban development and activating community for positive environmental stewardship.
You may or may not have Board experience but will be considered a leader in your profession and want to share your insight and knowledge to enable positive changes for the environment.
Board Observer – self-development opportunity:
As our Board Observer, you will be a driven individual in the early stages of your career looking for a self-development opportunity to gain Board exposure and learn about the role of governance in the environmental non-profit sector.
The purpose of the Observer role is to develop governance skills therefore it is not expected that you are in a senior position or have any previous governance experience however you should be sufficiently experienced in your professional capacity to be able to add to the views of the Board of Trustees.
Time Commitment
Our Board meets 6 times a year in person, and you will also join a committee or advisory group to provide recommendations to the Board - in an area that aligns with your expertise or interests.
Both roles are voluntary however the problems that we are solving are complex and important and the impact and change that you will be a part of will be transformational and is incredibly rewarding.
