- We are looking for a Programme Coordinator to join our small, vibrant team and lead the planning and delivery of our Active Recreation/Sport and Social Programmes.
Tasks & Responsibilities
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Coordinate and deliver weekly active recreation and social programmes for children, youth and adults with intellectual disabilities
- Plan, organise and run seasonal events, including holiday programmes and social gatherings
- Work alongside whānau, stakeholders, community groups and service providers to strengthen partnerships and create inclusive community opportunities
- Work collaboratively within a small team environment, fostering a supportive and cooperative approach to shared goals and tasks
- Help manage and support a growing volunteer programme
- Use your organisational skills to schedule people, equipment and resources
- Contribute to adaptive practice within sporting, cultural and social settings
- Maintain effective communication through digital and community channels
- Ensure all Health & Safety and safeguarding protocols are upheld
- Record and evaluate programme outcomes for reporting purposes
Qualifications & Experience
We’re looking for someone with:
- Experience working with or supporting people with intellectual disabilities
- A genuine passion for inclusivity and the disability sector
- Excellent facilitation, leadership and group management skills
- Strong communication abilities – both written and verbal
- A proactive and professional approach to health, safety and wellbeing
- Strong time management, logistics and event planning skills
- The ability to think creatively, solve problems and show initiative
- Confidence using IT tools including Word, Excel, Canva, Outlook and social media
- Experience managing or working alongside volunteers
- Ability to create visual supports and social stories
- A full NZ Driver’s Licence
- A clear Police Check and Children’s Worker Safety Check (required)
- A qualification in community development, sport and recreation, health, disability, education, or social sciences would be a bonus, but isn’t essential.
