About the Role:
As the Trade Manager, you will play a key role in managing our paint department, building strong relationships with our trade customers, and driving sales growth. You’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring stock levels are maintained, providing expert advice, and leading a team to deliver outstanding service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the Paint Department to meet and exceed sales targets
- Develop and maintain relationships with trade customers, including builders, contractors, and decorators
- Provide expert product knowledge and advice to customers, helping them choose the right solutions for their projects
- Oversee inventory management and ensure product availability
- Supervise and motivate a small team, providing coaching and support as needed Maintain a high standard of store presentation and customer service
About You:
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- Knowledge and experience in the decorating or painting industry
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and the team
- Excellent self-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks effectively
- A background in painting or practical experience in the trade would be a distinct advantage
- Previous retail or management experience, ideally in a similar environment A proactive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn and develop You will need to be physically fit, as there is a lot of lifting.
