Guthrie Bowron Wānaka is looking for a dynamic Trade Manager to lead our Paint Department and deliver exceptional service to our trade and retail customers.  

About the Role:  

As the Trade Manager, you will play a key role in managing our paint department, building strong relationships with our trade customers, and driving sales growth. You’ll be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring stock levels are maintained, providing expert advice, and leading a team to deliver outstanding service.  

Key Responsibilities:  

• Manage the Paint Department to meet and exceed sales targets  
• Develop and maintain relationships with trade customers, including builders, contractors, and decorators  
• Provide expert product knowledge and advice to customers, helping them choose the right solutions for their projects  
• Oversee inventory management and ensure product availability  
• Supervise and motivate a small team, providing coaching and support as needed  Maintain a high standard of store presentation and customer service  

About You:  

To be successful in this role, you’ll need:  

• Knowledge and experience in the decorating or painting industry  
• Strong communication skills with the ability to build rapport with customers and the team  
• Excellent self-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage tasks effectively  
• A background in painting or practical experience in the trade would be a distinct advantage  
• Previous retail or management experience, ideally in a similar environment  A proactive, hands-on attitude with a willingness to learn and develop  You will need to be physically fit, as there is a lot of lifting.
