About the role- Kōrero mō te tūranga: We are seeking a Casual Primary Care Assistant (PCA) to join our team. The role provides primary care health support, to our patients and our team, working under the direction and delegation of our Clinical Nurse Manager and our clinical team. 


This role is a casual position. 


Your role will involve a variety of tasks that support our clinicians, including, ECGs, patient observations and performing blood tests. Additionally, you will assist with healthcare administration, process and sterilise instruments, manage stock, and ensure the clinic is set up and maintained to the highest standards. Your attention to detail and proactive approach will help us meet health targets and manage patient recalls effectively.


There will be a mix of direct patient contact along with administration support tasks to be completed each day.


Our practice is a fast-paced environment and being able to multitask is a must, we will provide training and professional development.


About You- Mōu: 

  • You will have an interest in healthcare or previous healthcare experience. 
  • Phlebotomy (blood draw) experience would be preferred. 
  • You will have great interpersonal and effective communication skills that easily builds trusting relationships with both patients and staff.
  • The ability to work with and relate to people from different cultural backgrounds.
  • A meticulous eye for detail.
  • Great administration skills to record accurate information.
  • Previous experience using Medtech database is preferable but not essential.
  • Ability to multitask to ensure that all tasks are completed on time.
  • A great team player with a great attitude who thrives in a busy diverse work environment.
  • Be good at decision making and problem solving.
  • Hold a current CPR certificate or be prepared to obtain one.
  • Competent in phlebotomy would be desirable but not essential.
