The Tarras Golf Club was established in 1956 in the heart of Central Otago’s sheep farming country. Just outside the village, it is located along SH8, North of Cromwell and East of Wanaka.

Tarras village is a popular stop for coffee and lunch. The unique Country Store and Merino Shop offer local produce and wine tastings. Here you also find the famous Shrek museum.

Tarras Golf Club is one of the few remaining original rural golf courses in New Zealand where sheep graze the fairways and small fences around the greens make sure the animals don’t touch the putting surface!
