Please be advised that the Roys Bay water ski access lane will be temporarily closed between 20 December 2024 and 10 February 2025 as per the Queenstown Lakes District Council’s Navigation Safety Bylaw 2018.

This closure is in response to the high number of swimmers in the area during summer, which poses significant safety risks when vessels use the ski lane.

Note:

• Swimming is permitted in the designated ski lane area.
• Access lane rules (Clause 42 of the Navigation Safety Bylaw 2018) will not apply during this period.
• No vessels (including those towing water skiers) are permitted to exceed 5 knots within 200 metres of the shore.
