If this is an emergency call 111.
Wānaka Medical Centre and Aspiring Medical Centre share the weekend/public holiday work.
There is always a clinic at one of the practices from 9am – 12 noon and 3pm – 6pm Saturday and Sunday and Public Holidays.
These hours are extended at busy times of the year.
This is a walk in clinic, with no appointment necessary, although a phone call first can be helpful.
After hours calls (from 6pm) are triaged by a nurse-led service, accessed by calling the practices’ main number or HealthLine on 0800 611 116. Calls will be answered 24/7 and free health advice is available around the clock.
From 6pm until 11.00pm, 7 days a week, there is a clinician on call in Wānaka available to support patients requiring urgent medical treatment. After 11.00pm, patients who need to be seen by a clinician will be directed by Healthline to the Lakes District Hospital emergency department in Queenstown, or if required, Dunstan Hospital in Clyde.
