Walk or mountain bike this steep 16 km track up Mount Isthmus. With beautiful views over Lake Wānaka, Lake Hāwea, and the Southern Alps. From the carpark, follow the poled route on the right of Stewart Creek until it joins the 4WD track. From here a steep, rocky climb winds upwards to a skyline ridge topping at 1385 m.

Car park is located off SH6, north of Lake Hāwea township and a 30 minute drive from Wānaka. Take care parking and crossing the road as this is a busy car park beside the highway.

No dogs. 5-7 hours return. Grade 5 Mountain Biking. 16km.
