Advocate for Rural Development - Champion for Otago’s Future.

Amie Pont grew up in Mosgiel, and for many years now, has called the Māniatoto home. With a passion for rural development, Amie has always been dedicated to supporting community and making sure our voices are heard.

For over twenty years, Amie has supported many local initiatives, is currently serving as Chair of Māniatoto Arts & Cultural Incorporated and works part-time for Herenga ā Nuku – the Outdoor Access Commission. Governance and advisory roles within local environmental initiatives (such as the Tiaki Maniototo catchment project) have grown her focus on regional results.

Ensuring our values and priorities shape our future, Amie’s vision is clear: a prosperous, vibrant Otago where we care for the land, while providing opportunities for all, especially our mokopuna. Amie’s ready to bring her deep community connection to a regional role.
