Steep in places. 2-3 hour walk one way.

The Grandview Mountain Track gives access to the vast Grandview Range. Trampers are well rewarded for their effort from the upper sections of the greater Grandview Range with great view of Lake Hāwea and surrounding mountains. 

The track is signposted from the car park at the end of Nook Rd in Lake Hawea.

Please note:

• the track crosses Lake Hāwea Station, please respect livestock and property, remain on the marked trail and use the stiles were provided.
• in summer, the track can get very hot and dry. Ensure you take plenty of water and food and have adequate protection against the sun.
• be prepared for alpine conditions at any time throughout the year.
• 1:50000 topographical map CA Lake Hāwea is recommended.

Mountain biking: Advanced Grade 4

Mountain bikers can travel to Pakituhi Hut but cannot exit via the Breast Hill Track.

Track is closed for lambing for about six weeks each year, October to mid-November. If you plan to be on the track at this time check with the Department of Conservation on 0800 275 362.
