There is a controlled burn taking place on Cardrona Valley Road (October 14/15).

The burnoff is 150 hectares in size and there are three helicopters assisting, which were organised by the landowner.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand has been notified, and recommend the public close their windows and doors if they are impacted by smoke.
