An evening of Poetry and Art. This debut poetry book opening for 'slacken the jaw' by poet Koko, and illustrated by local artist Brigid Allan, is evidence of a close friendship forged through time. Through the process of cyanotype photography, Koko’s words are suspended in Allan’s sun-filtered abstractions, emerging through a process grounded in mutual trust. With a focus on making work with sustainable materials, Allan’s art’s practice is spontaneous and responsive. Embracing disruption and chance as a guiding force.
