The Angling Club is organising a public meeting to hear about and discuss a Didymo Research Project headed by Tom Cawood
Tom is from Wales and is a passionate trout fisherman. He's been really saddened from seeing the effect of didymo on some of our previously pristine New Zealand rivers over the last 25 years.
Instead of continuing to watch our rivers being choked by didymo, he is trying to do something about it. With some ideas and an ability to bring together experts that know much more about didymo than he does, they have come up with a plan that might help control didymo.
Tom will be presenting their research group's latest ideas drawn from medicine, plant science and pest control, on how to develop a treatment that could control the production of rock snot by didymo.
This is a public meeting so encourage anyone who might be interested to come.
