Children 8-12 years are invited to participate in a children’s fishing day organised by the Upper Clutha Angling Club and supported by Otago Fish and Game

This is very much a fun day for kids and parents alike. The club has organised experienced skippers with their boats. They, plus another parent/clubmember, will take the children on a 2-hour boat fishing trip from The Neck at the top of Lake Hāwea to Kids Bush camp site. At the camp site we will organise fun games like longest cast, most accurate cast, etc.

We will have some cool prizes and cook a great BBQ lunch for all attending.

We expect the day to finish around 4pm.

We start at 9am at the Albert Town campsite (left hand side of the road to Hāwea). Please email [email protected] for an authorisation form.

Please note a limit of 40 children has been set and enrolments are strictly on a “first come first serve’ basis.

WHAT TO BRING

Children should bring the following:

• Sunglasses. [ Note some form of glasses will be compulsory for eye protection from hooks – sunglasses, preferably polaroid, safety glasses or prescription glasses]
• Sun hat and sunscreen
• Appropriate clothing to keep warm and dry. Children should wear a bright coloured top
• Sturdy footwear
• Life jacket if possible (otherwise we will supply)
• Fishing tackle will be supplied by Fish and Game or you can bring your own
