Predator Free Wānaka gathering

Predator Free Wānaka gathering

Thu 29 May 2025, 5:30 AM - 7:00 AM

Venue: B.Effect/B.Social

We’re running a social evening (speakers starting from 6) in the upstairs room.

This is a great chance to come and meet volunteers and learn more about Predator Free Wānaka, what we do and our hopes and goals for the future.

Predator Free Wānaka is part of the Southern Lakes Sanctuary and we will have Samuel Purdie from their team giving a brief talk. Samuel is the Biodiversity Project Coordinator for Southern Lakes Sanctuary. He’s an experienced herpetologist and entomologist and will be talking to us about all the wonderful lizards and invertebrates in our project area and what we can do to help them, as well as some of the big-picture plans the Southern Lakes Sanctuary have for the future.

We will also have a brief talk from Tom Reeves, the Biodiversity Coordinator for RealNZ about the Karearea Project and plans for the next breeding season and how PFW volunteers can be involved.

There will be some nibbles provided and lots of time for questions and discussion. Feel free to bring anyone who you think would be interested in getting involved.

If you’d like to learn more, please reply to this call Guy on 022 406 1663.

Hope to see you there!
