Local performance physiotherapist and endurance athlete Helene Barron is inviting the community to a special screening of the powerful documentary Onwards in support of the Cancer Society Southern division.

Filmed and edited by Wānaka-based film-maker Ben Wallbank, Onwards captures Helene’s deeply personal journey through cancer diagnosis, treatment, and recovery.

The film was recently selected as a finalist at the 2025 Doc Edge Film Festival earlier this year, and this local screening aims to raise both awareness and funds for cancer support services in the region.

With 77 New Zealanders diagnosed with cancer every day, this fundraiser highlights the importance of ongoing support, research, and awareness efforts. Proceeds from the event will go directly to the Cancer Society.

Two screenings; 6.45pm and 8pm.
