Health Action Wānaka is advocating to increase public health services in this region. As our population has grown our health services have not kept up and we now have fewer public health services in the town than other similar sized towns throughout New Zealand.
As you may know, the Associate Minister of Health is coming to Wānaka on July 1 as part of a rural roadshow.
Health Action Wānaka is keen to deliver a resounding show of strength from the community by having as many people as possible at the Q&A event at the Lake Wānaka Centre.
If we could have the Lake Wānaka Centre filled to the brim (as we did at the community meeting in March 2024), it would send a very strong message to the government, and support our efforts in the private meetings we are having with Minister Matt Doocey (in Wānaka) and Minister Simeon Brown (in Auckland).
