A community is only as good as its people!

In Hāwea, community is more than where we live — it’s how we connect with our neighbours and show up for one another to make this place so special. But staying connected isn’t always easy when life gets in the way.

That’s why the Hāwea Community Association (HCA) is changing things up. This year, instead of a formal public meeting, we’re inviting locals to Community Connections - a relaxed gathering designed to spark conversation, curiosity, and connection.

There’ll be no lengthy presentations. Just the chance to meet your neighbours, find out what’s happening locally via stalls representing local groups and initiatives, and explore how you might get involved — all over a free breakfast, with kids' entertainment to keep the little ones happy.

It’s a meaningful way to bring people together, that might just help us evolve as a community, and influence Hāwea's future.
