Is it time to use your professional skills in a job with meaning and heart?

Wastebusters is looking for an experienced Navigator to lead our Engagement and Consultancy team, delivering community engagement programmes and consultancy services to support people and businesses on their zero waste journey.

You’ll be the Navigator who can inspire the team, keep the waka on course and connect with everyone you meet. Balancing budgets, overseeing delivery and mapping progress will be second nature to you, and you’ll have a passion for supporting environmental action through connection and relationships.

You will have experience leading a team with empathy and integrity, bringing everyone on the journey with you. Authentic and fun loving, with the dance moves to prove it, you may have a background in project management or impact consultancy. Curiosity and strategic thinking will be two of your strengths, and you’ll excel at making good decisions for Wastebusters and for our clients.

As our Engagement Manager, you will have the skills, competencies and growth mindset to:

  • Lead the EC team, fostering a high-performance culture and championing your team’s success.
  • Oversee and continually improve the delivery of our engagement programmes, zero waste work in schools and business consultancy services.
  • Map, track and implement programme, event and project delivery to ensure KPIs, budgets and deadlines are met.
  • Manage service level agreement and contracts
  • Create meaningful connections and strategic, impactful relationships with key partners and our community.
  • Work alongside the senior leadership team, collaboratively delivering our strategy and setting priorities for Wastebusters, ensuring we remain a resilient, mature social enterprise.

Wastebusters is an award-winning, not-for-profit social enterprise known throughout Aotearoa New Zealand as a zero waste leader and inspiration. This role is full-time, 32-40 hours a week, based at our zero waste hub in beautiful Wānaka.
