Mō mātou - About Us 

Aspiring Medical Centre is a progressive, motivated, and friendly general practice in Wanaka.  

Aspiring Medical’s enrolled patient population is around 7500, our patient health care needs are provided by our clinical team of Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Clinical Nurse Specialist, Nurses, Phlebotomist, Primary Care Assistants, Receptionist and Administrators. We also provide support to visitors to our town with their urgent health care needs throughout the year. 

Mō te tūnga - About the role


We are seeking a Medical Receptionist to cover maternity leave on a fixed term until late May 2025. This role would join our well supported Reception and Administration team. The position will be between 24 - 40 hours per week. There will also be some additional weekend (usually 1 in 4 weekends) and public holiday work required. 

In this role you will be responsible for: - 

  • Providing excellent customer service. 
  • Good telephone etiquette. 
  • Entering information accurately into our Patient Management System. 
  • Booking appointments appropriately. 
  • Administration functions to ensure timely response to our patient’s needs. 
  • Payments and reconciliation. 

Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako - Skills and experience 

To be successful in this maternity cover role you must: 

  • Have a strong customer service focus together with well-developed inter-personal skills. • Have the ability to prioritise workloads. 
  • A sound working knowledge of the usual office systems, Microsoft suite, email, scanning and photocopying. 
  • Be able to multi-task effectively with strong attention to detail to get the job completed accurately, effectively, and efficiently. 
  • Experienced in working with our Patient Management System Medtech 32 or Medtech Evolution. • A commitment to Aspiring Medical achieving health equity for our patients and community. • Fully vaccinated against Covid-19. 
  • Have current eligibility to work in New Zealand. (Please note applications for those that require sponsorship will not be accepted.)
